Including the 3 Peaks and Alternative Yorkshire Peaks Breaks, we fully host you and the other like-minded guests both on the guided walks and for all meals during your stay. The routes are discussed with you and the group over a glass of Prosecco and tailored to suit all abilities, the weather and daylight hours. You just bring the enthusiasm and let us do the rest.
If you have a group who love the idea of “Work Hard, Play Hard” maybe the Ales in the Dales is just for you. Each day the guided route between 11-14 miles takes in remote and stunning scenery but over those six days there’s the well-deserved bonus of 27 local pubs – a drink in each is not required to achieve this 86 mile challenge but, hey you make the rules!
If you’d rather explore the area at a more sedate pace, we have created Discover Yorkshire, a three day guided break with a full but less energetic programme. With magnificent castles, stately homes, spectacular gardens, historic theatres, fascinating evening talks and presentations, dramatic waterfalls and serene abbeys, it showcases Wensleydale at its best.
Although we love to host visitors to the Lodge, many groups self-cater and plan their own itineraries. The Lodge is full of tourist information, walk ideas and leaflets but if you want us to help you with bookings or suggest things to do, we’ll be more than happy. We can help put in place a Murder Mystery Evening, some Bespoke Guided Walking, Spa Experience, Paddle & Picnic Canoe Day or a variety of other Themed Ideas. In the past we have been able to arrange a Rugby Themed weekend, a Middleham Horse Racing Experience, a Traditional Tea Party, Brewery Tours and Gin Tasting.
Leyburn and Wensleydale hold a variety of Local Events including the Tour de Yorkshire Cycle Race, Food & Drink Festival, Wensleydale Agricultural Show, Swinifest Music Festival, Wensleydale Wander, Dark Skies Festival and Swaledale Music & Art Festival. Nearby we are spoilt with a wealth of Local Attractions including The Forbidden Corner, Aysgarth Falls, Bolton Castle, Wensleydale Creamery, Jervaulx Abbey, Nidderdale Llamas, White Scar Caves and Thorp Perrow Arboretum.
It truly is hard to beat any day out in God’s Own Country!
